The Moral Compass

After looking at Hubble telescope's top ten greatest space photographs over at Jen's Living in Dominica, I have been thinking a lot about outer and inner spaces.

“Two things fill the mind with ever new and increasing admiration and awe, the oftener and more steadily we reflect on them,” wrote Immanuel Kant, “the starry heavens above and the moral law within.”
These days, the moral law within is being viewed with increasing awe, if not always admiration. The human moral sense turns out to be an organ of considerable complexity, with quirks that reflect its evolutionary history and its neurobiological foundations....... The above is an excerpt from an article printed in today's New York Times which raises interesting issues on morality, the image cartel of media today and the possibility that we may, in fact, be capable of moving beyond the stereotypes that have the monopoly on morality.
